Newest Members of New Jersey High-Tech Hall of Fame Announced

Bridgewater, NJ, February 20, 2008 — The New Jersey-Pennsylvania Council of AeA, BioNJ, and the HealthCare Institute of New Jersey (HINJ), along with Marquee Sponsor Burlington County College, have announced the newest members of the Class of 2008 for the New Jersey High-Tech Hall of Fame.

This “virtual Hall “was created in 1999 to spotlight the high-tech achievements of Researchers and Educators and Government and Business Leaders, who, through their leadership and accomplishments, have made New Jersey one of the premier high-tech states in the nation.

The awards will be given at a dinner on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at the Crystal Plaza in Livingston, New Jersey.

These leaders are selected by the industry itself through balloting coordinated by the AeA, BioNJ and HINJ. To date, more than 50 outstanding individuals have been inducted and are featured at www.njhightech.org. This year’s inductees are:

Business

  • Elizabeth Posillico, Ph.D., President and CEO, Elusys Therapeutics, Inc.;
  • Hugh T. Regan, Treasurer, in-TEST;
  • Gary Stiles, M.D., Chief Medical Officer, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals;

Researchers

  • J John Babiak, Ph.D., SVP, Drug Discoveries Technologies, PTC Therapeutics;
  • Maurice Hilleman, Ph.D., SVP, Merck Research Laboratories (posthumously);
  • James T. Sturm, Ph.D, Director, PRISM, Princeton University;

Education

  • Dean John Colaizzi, Ph.D. (retired) Dean, Ernest Mario College of Pharmacy, Rutgers University Government;
  • United States Congressman Frank Pallone, 6th Congressional District, (Federal Government Official;
  • New Jersey General Assembly Speaker Joseph Roberts (State Government Official)

Tickets for the Induction Dinner are $195 per person or $1,850 for a table of 10.  Sponsorships are available at $1,750 each and include announcement of sponsorship at the event, e-mail promotion, company logo on the High-Tech Hall of Fame’s web site with a link to the sponsor company’s home page for a full year, and two complimentary dinner tickets.

The Media Sponsor for the 2008 New Jersey High Tech Hall of Fame is NJ BIZ, the state weekly business publication headquartered in New Brunswick.
