HINJ Holds First Life Sciences Legislative Briefing for State Policymakers

Branchburg, NJ, May 13, 2014 — The HealthCare Institute of New Jersey (HINJ) today hosted its inaugural Life Sciences Legislative Briefing for state policymakers at ImClone Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Company in Branchburg.

The briefing was intended to provide participants a deeper dive into the drug-development process, the value of medical innovation and the impact of public policy on industry decisionmaking. 

Guests included Senator Jennifer Beck (R-Monmouth); Brian Quigley, Deputy Counsel, Assembly Majority Office; and John Gorman, Deputy Research Director, Senate Minority Office.

Speakers included Alan Rigby, Ph.D., Vice President Antibody Drug Conjugate Biology ImClone Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Company; and Bob Goldberg, Ph.D., Vice President, Center for Medicine in the Public Interest.

HINJ’s next state legislative briefing is being planned for this fall.
