HINJ to Host 2015 Life Sciences Celebration October 30; Four Honorees Named

20140814 REGISTRATION ICON (UPDATED)New Brunswick, NJ, September 17, 2015 ― The HealthCare Institute of New Jersey (HINJ) will honor meritorious leadership in and contributions to New Jersey’s life sciences community at its 2015 Life Sciences Celebration, which will be held Friday, October 30 at the Wyndham Garden Trenton from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m.

HINJ’s 2015 honorees will be:

  • The Honorable Bob Franks Public Service Award: Leonard Lance (R-7), Member, US House Energy and Commerce Committee
  • Research: Nils Lonberg, Ph.D., Senior Vice President, Oncology Discovery Biology, Bristol-Myers Squibb Company

In 2014, HINJ honored The Honorable Rush Holt, U.S. Representative (CD 12 – now retired); Joachim Kohn, Ph.D., FBSE, Director, New Jersey Center for Biomaterials, Board of Governors Professor of Chemistry, Rutgers; Students 2 Science, Inc.; and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – New Jersey Chapter.

At its inaugural Life Sciences Celebration in 2013, HINJ recognized former Governor Thomas H. Kean; the late U.S. Senator Frank R. Lautenberg; Rutgers’ Dr. Christopher J. Molloy; Dr. Joseph R. Bertino of Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and Stem Cell Institute of New Jersey; Dr. Debra L. Wentz of New Jersey Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies (NJAMHAA); and Biotechnology High School.
