New Brunswick, NJ, May 15, 2012 ― The HealthCare Institute of New Jersey (HINJ) has appointed Douglas Berger as its Director of Communications. In this role, Berger will oversee all aspects of HINJ communications, including member communications, public relations, and social media.

Paranicas, HINJ’s president and chief executive officer. “With a background that includes a law degree, Capitol Hill experience, and nearly 25 years in corporate communications, including senior roles at two member-based, policy-driven trade associations, we feel Doug is uniquely qualified to serve our members and promote the New Jersey life sciences community in the rapidly evolving, multichannel communications environment.”
Prior to joining HINJ, Berger served for 13 years at the Direct Marketing Association, overseeing all aspects of member and executive communications, and eight years as public affairs director at the Association for Postal Commerce. In addition to holding a law degree from Washington University in St. Louis, MO, he worked on Capitol Hill for a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives and a U.S. Senator.
