HINJ’s ‘By the Numbers’ Portal Showcases Life Sciences’ New Jersey Economic Impact

Economic Development 2New Brunswick, NJ, March 24, 2016 ― The HealthCare Institute of New Jersey (HINJ) has updated and expanded “New Jersey Life Sciences: By the Numbers,” the association’s compilation of information from HINJ and third-party sources on the life sciences sector’s significant impact on New Jersey’s economy.

HINJ’s By the Numbers includes economic-impact data from a number of resources, including the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), Choose New Jersey and We Work for Health New Jersey, among others.

HINJ’s expanded By the Number page is the latest offering on HINJ.org, which was relaunched in February 2013 as part of HINJ’s strategic plan to build a dynamic communications capability that delivers relevant, robust and timely information to internal and external stakeholders.

In September 2015, HINJ launched Value of Medical Innovation, a fact-driven, consumer-friendly digital library that delves into the myriad benefits of medical innovation, which saves lives — and saves money.

In November 2014, HINJ added a Corporate Social Responsibility section to its website that focuses on HINJ member companies’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, including their corporate philanthropy, patient outreach initiatives, community involvement and sustainability/green practices.

HINJ has promoted its Value of Medical Innovation and CSR pages via Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, which has helped make each among the most-visited areas of the association’s website.  HINJ will promote its updated By the Numbers section in a similar fashion.

HINJ’s frequently updated website now is organized into six topical sections:  About HINJ, Life Sciences and New Jersey, Value of Medical Innovation, Corporate Social Responsibility, Policy and News.

In addition, HINJ’s website offers a password-protected Members Portal where member company representatives may digitally access information.
