* * *
The HealthCare Institute of New Jersey (HINJ) applauds the U.S. House of Representatives’ passage of the 21st Century Cures Act. This landmark legislation would accelerate the pace of discovering new, life-saving treatments and cures for some of the world’s most dreaded diseases.
It is vitally important to New Jersey’s life sciences community, where much of this research and discovery takes place, and it is critical to patients around the world who will benefit from its impact.
Our state is fortunate to have two New Jersey Members of Congress who played key leadership roles in the development of the 21st Century Cures Act. We commend Congressmen Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-6) and Leonard Lance (R-7) for their commitment to patients through their work to modernize America’s apparatus for researching, reviewing and approving new life-saving medical therapies, technologies and devices.
With our high concentration of life sciences, researchers and scientists, New Jersey is the medicine chest of the world. The 21st Century Cures Act means that new, life-saving medical breakthroughs would be reviewed, approved and delivered to patients as quickly, efficiently and safely as possible.
HINJ is grateful to Representatives Pallone and Lance and their colleagues in the New Jersey Congressional Delegation for their commitment to the patient community.
