HealthCare Institute of New Jersey Names Rebecca Perkins Communications Director

New Brunswick, NJ, June 4, 1998 — The HealthCare Institute of New Jersey (HINJ), has announced that Rebecca Perkins has been named Director of Communications.  

“We are pleased to have someone with Beki’s extensive background of involvement in New Jersey’s leading issues joining us at the HealthCare Institute,” said William H. Tremayne, President.  “She will play a vital role in helping execute our mission:  building public recognition of the importance of the pharmaceutical and medical device industry in our state.”

Before joining the Institute, Perkins owned and operated Rebecca Perkins Public Relations, an issues-based public relations firm in Somerset County.  She has also managed the New Jersey Insurance News Service, an information association of the state’s leading property/casualty insurers.

Perkins is a vice-chair of the Somerset County Chamber of Commerce.  She is President of the Board of Trustees of Somerset Treatment Services, and a member of the advisory board for the Resource Center for Women and Their Families.  She is a member of the Somerset County Open Space Commission.  Earlier this year she was named the Outstanding Woman in Business in Somerset County.

Perkins holds an MA from Drew University in Madison, NJ and a BSE from Emporia State University in Emporia, KS.  She is a resident of Warren.
